"Destruction defined Thrash Metal in the 1980's and are one of the true forefather's of extreme music“. Scott Ian. Anthrax.
Destruction have written and continue to write true metal history. Surely, there's no metal-head out there who didn’t bang his fucking head to anthems like "Mad Butcher“, "Curse The Gods“ or "Life Without Sense“?
Well, now young and old alike can live and re-live all the best of Destruction. The new masterpiece “Thrash Anthems” includes 13 Destruction classics from the years 1984 to 1990 as well as two brand new songs. All the classics are re-recorded and re-arranged. Schmier and band mates (Mike and Marc) worked with virtually the whole team that participated on the production job of last album “Inventor Of Evil”. And the Danish star rock producer Jacob Hansen did the mix.
Since releasing their debut album "Sentence Of Death" in 1984, the name Destruction stands for tough-minded, dynamic and unadulterated Thrash Metal. During their career, the guys have taken little notice of trends, images and “what the others are doing”. They've simply got on creating their own quality music and bringing their own slant to the world of the thrash riff: Destruction in 2006 still stands for old school Thrash Metal. In spite of all the heaviness and aggression though, the important thing is that the songs never lose their dynamism and their hooks. Today's metal scene needs Destruction more than ever.
Yes! It's proven in the chart positions attained by the last few Destruction releases, the rush for Destruction live tickets and the very busy tour schedule the band still enjoys. Followers, old and new, always know that this band and front-man, Schmier in particular, will always deliver what they want!
Extra features on "Thrash Anthems" include tracks that never featured Schmier on vocals - “Cracked Brain”. Monstrous new re-recorded versions of set list favourites "Curse The Gods", "Bestial Invasion" and "Invincible Force" for both newcomer and die hard and two brand new Destruction tracks (“Profanity” and “Depostition (Your Heads Will Roll)“, so; Over 70 minutes of pure, evil thrash power. Once again; “Value for money” from Destruction. They've never let you down!
