Brett Elam- Lead Guitars
Cory Miller- Rhythm Guitars
Craig Roberts- Bass Guitars
Chris Sweigart- Vocals
Obsidian Throne was formed in June of 2005 in Keller, TX, USA. Drummer, David Sikora, approached good friends Chris Sweigart and Craig Roberts to inquire on forming a Melodic Death Metal project. Later, Brett Elam was consulted about a position in the band and after a short audition instantly became the new lead guitarist. In the early days, the group was very gore-oriented and went by the name of Slow Evisceration. This was later changed to Soul Evisceration until eventually being changed to Obsidian Throne. After going through several rhythm guitarists, Cory Miller, cousin of bassist Craig Roberts, was called up to fill the vacancy. Keyboards were used on the recordings of the band’s first demo, ‘Pandemic,’ in 2006, thanks to good friend Lerin Huntley, but this collaboration was short lived. After playing several large shows throughout 2006, their focus turned to writing new material. In May of 2007, the band re-entered Nomad Studios in Dallas, TX, USA, to record their new EP, ‘Behind the Veil’.
