The Inferno Metal Festival in Oslo, Norway is ready for its 4th edition, and will be completely sold out - as it was last year. What started out as a meeting place for the norwegian metalscenesters quickly attracted metalheads from all over the world, people started travelling from faraway places like Mexico, USA, Japan, India and Australia as well as some European countries. All of a sudden everybody was talking about Inferno as one of the most important festivals when it came to extreme metal, and the idea of seeing norwegian blackmetalbands on their own turf attracted a lot of people. With a capacity of 1500 a day Inferno is a very intimate festival, where the audience mingle, drink and talk with the bands. That’s one of Infernos strongest points, and a very good reason why we will stay at the Rockefeller/John Dee venue – and not move the festival to an outdoor location or a bigger venue.

Last year we also ventured into the wonderful world of Compact Discs with «Infernal Gathering – The First Chapter» without really knowing what we got ourselves into. With bands like Immortal, Opeth and Entombed on the tracklist we aimed high – and fortunately it turned out to be a good idea. With high expectations and lots of bad coffee we set out to make an even better compilation CD this year – and I honestly think we succeeded!

With tracks from both headliners and the smaller bands this CD aims to show you the broad spectre of extreme metal the Inferno Metal Festival brings to the audience, and maybe even open your ears for bands you up until now hadn’t heard. Put it in your stereo, crank it up and enjoy! (Yes, the CD)
